36 Hours in India
We decided to leave for India and venture out to discover this incredible country!
First stop? Jaipur!
Jaipur is affectionately referred to as the Pink City because of the pink walls and buildings of the old city. Surrounded by rugged hills and besieged walls, it is full of fascinating royal heritage and magnificent well preserved buildings.
One of the best spots in Jaipur is the City Palace, a vast complex that includes lavish buildings and courtyards, embellished by precious decorations and colourful paintings that add elegance and magnificence.
Amer Fort
Amber Fort is another magical spot placed on top of a hill from which to enjoy the surrounding landscape. The fortress is the hidden gem of Indian palaces where several halls, palatial passages and beautiful gardens adorn this unique marvel of architecture.
Second stop, Agra and Taj Mahal
Tired but full of enthusiasm, we moved to Agra by car, where we decided to admire the sunrise show on the Taj Mahal. Sunrise beats the crowds, and you have a better chance of taking a thrilling photo!
The Taj Mahal is India’s most famous sight and tourist attraction known around the world, and one of the New World Wonders and a UNESCO heritage site. It is a mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a monument to his fourth wife who died after giving birth to their 14th child.
After 36 hours we go back to Dubai with the certainty of having experienced something very special. On our way back we have already started planning the next weekend getaway!
